2014 NFL Draft: Houston Texans, You're Officially On The Clock

ClowneyThe Houston Texans were expected to be Super Bowl contenders, instead they finished with the worst record in the league.
Rather than looking at who was to blame for the terrible season, let us look at who the Texans could bring in to solve some of their issues.
This year's draft has a great choice of players at most positions, here are the top five players who would best fit the Texans and make them playoff contenders yet again.
No. 1: Jadeveon Clowney, Defensive End, South Carolina
Imagine a front line of Clowney and J.J. Watt; how do you stop that? I have the answer; you don't. Clowney is an absolute beast who has great speed for a man of his size. He can rush the passer and stop the run as well as any other end in the NFL let alone in college.
The Texans do need a quarterback but the class is deep enough for them to skip using the first pick in the draft on one, they can wait until the second round and then they have filled two needs with two very good players. Their main options if they take a quarterback in the second round are Tajh Boyd (Clemson), AJ McCarron (Alabama), and Zach Mettenberger (LSU). The quarterback class is incredibly deep this year.
No. 2: Teddy Bridgewater, Quarterback, Louisville
If Houston decides it does in fact want the best quarterback in the draft then look no further than Teddy Bridgewater. He is the most NFL-ready signal caller available, he has a great football I.Q and knows how to run an offense. Even though Johnny Manziel may be the more exciting prospect, Bridgewater is the sensible choice and will end the Texans' troubles at quarterback for many seasons to come.
No. 3: Johnny Manziel, Quarterback, Texas A&M
Surely Johnny Football to the Houston Texans is something from a storybook. The Texas A&M star stays in the state to play for their NFL team. As I briefly mentioned earlier Manziel is one of the most exciting and most popular prospects in years; Tebow-esque popularity if you will. A dual threat quarterback who would give the Texans an added offensive dimension other than passes to Andre Johnson.
No. 4: Jake Matthews, Offensive Lineman, Texas A&M
Johnny Football's No. 1 bodyguard would be a pick that would benefit the Texans for about 15 years. Matthews is one of the most talented linemen to come into a draft in years; he would sure up the Texans' line and give whoever their quarterback is a lot more time to work in the pocket. He is one of those guys who has the look of a perrenial pro-bowler.
No. 5: Sammy Watkins, Wide Receiver, Clemson
The best wide receiver in the draft would be a perfect No. 2 to Andre Johnson and eventually a great No. 1 when Johnson moves on or retires. Very quick and strong, Watkins would also be able to return kicks for the Texans making him a very versatile pick, but in reality would be a really big reach to use the No. 1 pick on.
Who do you think the Texans will pick? Let me know down below in the comments.
