DraftKings Week 6 Strategy: Worst Matchup at Each Position

When filling in your lineup, there are some players you may need to avoid this Sunday, given their opponent. Here are the worst matchups of Week 6 at each position.

Austin Davis

In his past two starts, Austin Davis has thrown six touchdown passes, just two interceptions and has totaled over 700 yards passing. Despite losing both games, he is averaging nearly 25 fantasy points per game, and is a relatively cheap option ($6,400) at Draft Kings this weekend.

While I did, momentarily, consider taking a shot on him in Week 6, I am very hesitant on pulling the trigger. His past two games were against teams with much weaker defenses in Philadelphia and Dallas.

This will not only be Davis’ first Monday Night Football start of his career, but also the first time he has started against an NFC West defense. If he can play well against San Francisco in primetime, then I will hop on his bandwagon.

DeMarco Murray

DeMarco Murray had another very heavy workload in Week 5, pushing him to 130 carries and 145 touches for the year. He is on pace to carry the ball 416 times this season. Many fans and media members have been discussing his durability all year long, and that question will be on full display in Week 6.

To have success against the Seahawks defense, you will need to be at or close to 100 percent. If Murray is still hurting from the opening five games, then it will be a very long Sunday for Cowboys fans. I could still see him performing well, but there are many different matchups I like over this one at the running back position in terms of fantasy football.

Pierre Garcon

If Washington is going to have any big plays through the air on Sunday, it will more than likely come from DeSean Jackson. The Arizona Cardinals have two solid cornerbacks and without burning speed or Demaryius Thomas-like abilities, it will be hard to have much success against them.

I could see Andre Roberts having some success out of the slot in his return to Glendale, and the Cardinals are still having issues covering tight ends. It could end up being a fairly high-scoring contest, but expect Garcon to be contained.

Greg Olsen

Expectations are high for Greg Olsen this Sunday, following a multi-touchdown game against Chicago in Week 5. He put up over 25 fantasy points in that game, but I do not see him doing much in Week 6.

Despite their performance on Sunday Night Football against New England, the Bengals defense is still one of the better units in football. They will be playing with a chip on their shoulder this week after being embarrassed in primetime.

Carolina Defense

Sticking with the Carolina/Cincinnati matchup, the entire Bengals team will be looking to prove they are, indeed, one of the league’s elite teams. It would not surprise me one bit if Cincinnati dominates this game from start to finish. Even with AJ Green out of the lineup, a motivated Mohammad Sanu and Giovani Bernard are enough to do some significant damage.
