NFL Power Rankings Week 7: AFC On The Rise
Week 7 in the 2014 NFL season is in the books. With no undefeated teams, it is certainly interesting trying to pick out the best one loss or two loss teams.
Five teams in the NFC have one or two losses, but six teams in the AFC have accomplished the same feat through seven weeks. The Bengals technically count at 3-2-1. Does not mean the balance of power between the two conferences is shifting?
Not necessarily, but the conferences are much more equal than fans realize. Four of the top seven and five of the top nine teams on the Week 7 Power Rankings are AFC teams.
The Denver Broncos remain the clear cut No. 1 team not just because of Peyton Manning but also the defense. What other teams in the AFC join Denver in the top 10?
Football Nation would like to remind readers that power rankings are only an opinion, based on just one opinion, but they do take into account strength of schedule, point differential and other human elements rather than just record.
The Miami Dolphins and Kansas City Chiefs, both AFC teams, made the biggest leap, each moving five spots. The Super Bowl Champion Seahawks and Chicago Bears, both NFC teams, took the biggest dive, dropping six spots.
Remember, Power Rankings are supposed to reveal some insight, not just list the teams from best to worst record.
Lastly, don't forget that the rankings are serious, but the comments are not. Let's be real, after reading lots and lots of serious football articles breaking down every little detail, fans could use a good laugh.
Anyway, without further ado, check out where each team ranks after Week 7 of the 2014 season.
