Fantasy Football Week 16 Injury Recap and Fantasy Impact

For those who are still playing in week 17, this post will be vital to your success for this coming week. As always, if you enjoy this post, follow @HarutNFL_FFBall for more information, advice, and much more fantasy football related. Here we go with the latest injuries from around the league in Week 15.

Quarterbacks:

Aaron Rodgers, QB, GB

  • Injury: Calf
  • Status: Probable
  • Depth Chart: Starter
  • Back-up: Matt Flynn
  • News: Rodgers apparently tweaked his calf in the game, but should be fine.
  • Fantasy ramification: Rodgers will be good to go. In some crazy event he doesn't go, Flynn won't be an option unless you play daily fantasy sports.

Johnny Manziel, QB, CLE

  • Injury: Hamstring
  • Status: Questionable
  • Depth Chart: Starter
  • Back-up: Brian Hoyer
  • News: Manziel took a big hit and got knocked out of the game and did not return.
  • Fantasy ramification: There is no new news on the injury, but as usual, there is no fantasy appeal with the quarterback position in Cleveland.

Running Backs:

Pierre Thomas, RB, NO

  • Injury: Foot
  • Status: Questionable
  • Depth Chart: Back-up
  • Back-up: Khiry Robinson
  • News: Thomas got nicked up after catching a screen pass for a solid gain and did not return.
  • Fantasy ramification: Khiry Robinson was the one to spell Mark Ingram after Thomas went down and really Ingram is the only fantasy relevant player here. Robinson will take up Thomas' role if he is to miss any time and only has value in deep PPR leagues.

Steven Jackson, RB, ATL

  • Injury: Quad
  • Status: Questionable
  • Depth Chart: Starters
  • Back-up: Devonta Freeman
  • News: Jackson left the game against the Saints and did not return late in the second quarter.
  • Fantasy ramification: Early media reports show optimism in that Jackson will be ready for the week 17 finale that will decide the division for the Falcons. As he has been all season, Jackson has been a touchdown dependent RB3 and shouldn't be counted on to score you a whole lot of points. Nonetheless, Devonta Freeman looks like to be a great hold in dynasty.

Wide Receivers:

T.Y. Hilton, WR, IND

  • Injury: Hamstring
  • Status: Questionable
  • Depth Chart: Starter
  • Back-up: Reggie Wayne / Donte Moncrief
  • News: Hilton was held out after being injured the past week, and might be held out again.
  • Fantasy ramification: The Colts just came out flat and never recovered against the Cowboys. If T.Y. Hilton doesn't play again in the season finale which seems pretty likely, Donte Moncrief is a solid boom or bust WR3 with WR2 upside in a game that the Colts will be trying to make a statement heading into the playoffs.

Percy Harvin, WR, NYJ

  • Injury: Rib
  • Status: Questionable
  • Depth Chart: Starter
  • Back-up: Eric Decker / Jeremey Kerley
  • News: Harvin left the game against the Patriots with a rib injury and did not return.
  • Fantasy ramification: Boy, there's a new injury every week with Harvin. That's the main reason I just did not draft him whatsoever this season. He can't be trusted and neither can be any Jet receivers. Decker will get a slight boost if Harvin is to miss this finale which seems likely. Expect to see Harvin in another jersey next season.

Tight Ends:

Dwayne Allen, TE, IND

  • Injury: Knee
  • Status: Questionable
  • Depth Chart: Starter
  • Back-up: Coby Fleener
  • News: Allen was a non-factor and could have been held out due to the score rather than the injury.
  • Fantasy ramification: We'll get more news on Dwayne Allen as the week goes on, but it was not pretty watching him drop all three of his targets on Sunday en route to a zero point outing. You might as well had started J.J. Watt at tight end.
