The 5 Candidates for College Coach of the Year?
While the college football scene appears to be consumed over who will fill coaching vacancies at Michigan, Nebraska and Florida, there is still some football to be played this weekend. Big games at the biggest time of the year. College football never seems to dull or fail to excite.
There have been plenty of great coaching performances this year at schools that would not normally be considered a powerhouse across the landscape. But good recruiting and solid offensive and defensive game planning has led to us rooting for the likes of TCU, Arizona State and of course, the Thundering Herd of Marshall.
When it comes time for post season awards, players are not the only ones who deserve recognition. Coaches spend hours in film rooms, game planning and trying to conquer the enemy on a weekly basis. The time spent planning is more important than the actual 60 minutes played on the field and for their efforts, there is a “Coach of the Year” award to be handed out. Here are my seven candidates who should be considered as the best the land has to offer.
