New York Giants: Could The Giants Be Seeing Double?

The New York Giants drafted (WR) Odell Beckham Jr (1st round) and (RB) Andre Williams (4th round) in the 2014 NFL draft. Both players had productive rookie seasons, however; overall the WR and RB positions suffered injuries to key players last season in Rashad Jennings and Victor Cruz. GM Jerry Reese must have some concerns regarding their health and if they can contribute in 2015. It’s possible that the Giants address both positions this off season. How about this scenario: The Giants draft WR Dorial Green-Beckham (Oklahoma) and (RB)Karlos Williams (Florida State). Green-Beckham has been projected to go somewhere between the late 1st round into the mid 2nd round. So it is possible that the Giants select him in the 2nd round. As for Karlos Williams, off the field issues has made Williams go from a solid 2nd round prospect to a possible 4th or 5th rounder. GM Reese has taken a RB with off the field issues in past drafts before (Ahmad Bradshaw, round 7). Below are scouting reports on both players:

Dorial Green Beckham (WR) Oklahoma: Good size (6’5/225) and strength with the ability to punish defensive backs after the catch. Green-Beckham is physically gifted with a long frame and long strides to match; which makes his speed very deceptive. Still needs more time to develop into an NFL receiver, but all the tools are there. Green-Beckham has been compared to A.J Green, once he reaches his potential. His stock could rise or fall after the combines, so he could go anyway between mid 1st round to late 2nd round.

Karlos Williams (RB) Florida State: Good speed and cutback ability packaged in a powerful frame. Runs smooth and effortlessly, while also maintaining a forward lean; which makes him a tough RB to take down. Williams does need to read his blocks better and be a better runner inside the tackles at the next level.

Final Thoughts: Although I really don’t see the Giants drafting a WR in the 1st or 2nd rounds, anything is possible when it comes to GM Jerry Reese as he has shocked us in recent drafts with his selections. However; It would  be interesting to see two Beckham’s lining up at the WR positions and  Williams and Williams in the backfield all at the same time.
