San Francisco 49ers: Top 3 Free Agents To Target This Offseason
The 2014-1015 season was one of frustration, distraction, and, ultimately, utter failure for both the fans and the members of the San Francisco 49ers' organization. With their highly successful head coach, Jim Harbaugh, and the management at odds throughout the duration of the regular season, the Niners imploded and put forth a pitiful on-field performance that fans have not been used to seeing in the past three seasons.
However, their less-than-stellar performance during the season was not entirely due to the off-field distractions swirling around the locker room and on the field. Colin Kaepernick and the offense took significant steps backward and were the biggest contributor to the 49ers' lack of success. The defense was once again stellar under the tutelage of Vic Fangio, despite missing key contributors. The offense, however, failed to string together successful drives, which in turn put too much pressure on the defense.
With first-year head coach Jim Tomsula at the helm, assisted by Geep Chryst and Eric Mangini manning the offensive and defensive coordinator positions respectively, the 49ers have some holes to fill going into next season.
The Niners have always maintained the philosophy of building through the draft, but which three free agents could bring critical contributions to the new-look 49ers?
