2015 Washington Redskins Preview: Schedule Outlook

The 2014 season for the Washington Redskins was a trying one to say the least. The Redskins went 4-12, including a 2-4 record within the NFL East, and it left serious questions regarding the future of this franchise in multiple areas.

The Redskins’ soap opera, known as Robert Griffin III, continued with yet more injuries and drama. The Redskins not only had issues on the field, but the issue of their mascot possibly being replaced was a huge topic of discussion during the season last year.

So, with all of these issues where do the Redskins go from here starting in 2015? It is a difficult question to answer because of the reoccurring theme of the quarterback and the uncertainty that surrounds Griffin.

I feel he will never be the quarterback he was when he first entered the league because of injuries and the fact defenses have quickly adjusted to the read option type offense he and his Redskins’ teammates perfected his rookie season.

The 2015 season is expected to be yet another down season, but the bright side for the Redskins is the rate at which team’s turnaround failure to success in the NFL is higher than most sports.

Here is a look at the 2015 Redskins’ schedule.

Week 1- Miami Dolphins @ Washington Redskins

Week 2- St. Louis Rams @ Washington Redskins

Week 3- Washington Redskins @ New York Giants

Week 4- Philadelphia Eagles @ Washington Redskins

Week 5- Washington Redskins @ Atlanta Falcons

Week 6- Washington Redskins @ New York Jets

Week 7- Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Washington Redskins

Week 8- Bye Week

Week 9- Washington Redskins @ New England Patriots

Week 10- New Orleans Saints @ Washington Redskins

Week 11- Washington Redskins @ Carolina Panthers

Week 12- New York Giants @ Washington Redskins

Week 13- Dallas Cowboys @ Washington Redskins

Week 14- Washington Redskins @ Chicago Bears

Week 15- Buffalo Bills @ Washington Redskins

Week 16- Washington Redskins @ Philadelphia Eagles

Week 17- Washington Redskins @ Dallas Cowboys

So, there is the entire 2015 Washington Redskins’ schedule. They have three of their first four games at home and if they could somehow get off to a fast start then maybe 2015 could be a surprise season for the Washington faithful.

The Redskins will welcome this year’s 5th overall pick in the NFL Draft, Brandon Scherff. Scherff is a big, physical offensive lineman from Iowa and will look to sure up that offensive line in hopes of keeping Griffin healthy in 2015 and beyond.

2015 will be interesting on a number of levels for Washington and it all starts week one against the Dolphins in Landover, Maryland.
