Jacksonville Jaguars Free Agent Situation

Chad HenneThe Jacksonville Jaguars are not the only team in the NFL faced with free agent decisions in the offseason. The team that arguably was the least talented team in the league must decide if its players are good enough to be brought back for another run toward mediocrity.
The good thing is some of these players - like Chad Henne and Maurice Jones-Drew - could get some attention on the open market.
For all the complaints about the play of Henne, he goes into the free agent market as one of the more solid backup quarterbacks in the league.
Jones-Drew will get a look by New England, Miami, Denver and maybe Cleveland. He is still a dependable back on the first two downs - but is not a workhorse anymore.
Here are nine free agents the Jaguars must decide whether to re-sign or release and move on to find other players to fill roster spots.
Chad Henne
He could be a very popular free agent quarterback on the open market. The Jaguars must make a decision if they pay Henne with a new deal or pay Blaine Gabbert $2.7 million in the final year of his contract.
Brandon Deaderick
He was signed in the preseason as a player who could help this team. His time in New England was supposed to be valuable and was a spot starter for the team. He should be brought back for another season in teal.
Will Blackmon
He came on light wildfire in his first preseason game for the team. Was injured some this season but provided leadership for a young secondary. I want to see him back here,
Clay Harbor
Harbor was a nice pick up before the season for the Jaguars. He is a big target who filled in for Marcedes Lewis while he was injured. Should be brought back and used in two tight end sets.
Cameron Bradfield
If I said Bradfield may be the most important free agent signing, you may laugh. But seriously, he and Austin Pasztor played well in place of Eugene Monroe and Luke Joeckel. Will be a solid back up.
Allen Reisner
He was a nice find in free agency. Was injured most of the season and will go to camp with the team. Possibly will be re-signed but Harbor’s play makes him a borderline returning player.
Jordan Todman
He becomes the second most important free agent player on this team. Now that Maurice Jones-Drew is no longer a consideration of being a must-sign, Todman should get the first chance to replace him.
Austin Pasztor
If the Jaguars do not find a right tackle in the draft or free agency, he will start next season. A real surprise for the team and a real find. Should be in starting lineup next season.
Ryan Davis
Played well in the final four games of the season. A constant motor who reminds me of a thicker Geno Hayes with pass rushing skills. The team should keep him to play in third down situations.
