Welcome to October, and the second month of the college football season. 

And we are wasting no time getting started, as there are no fewer than seven games pitting Top 25 teams against each other this week.

So buckle up your safety belt and sit tight, because this is sure to be the first week in the new era of the college football playoff that actually has far-reaching implications for the playoff.
