Is The NFC West Is The Craziest Division In Pro Football?

Looking back to a few days before the 2014 NFL season started and many looked at the NFC West as a dead certainty for Seattle. Moving into week 10, the NFC West has been anything but predictcable. Let's take a look at why the NFC West has thrown up a surprise or two.

Super Bowl champs not firing on all cyclinders

At 5-3 the Seattle Seahawks are looking anything but championship football. The Hawks have struggled for much of the season. Defeats to San Diego and Dallas were followed by a surprise loss agaisnt St Louis. Two of the Seahawks wins have been anything but convincing (Oakland and Carolina) the scorelines were probably too close for comfort for those insdie the Seattle locker room.

Percy Harvin moved to pastures new a few weeks ago. Golden Tate has not really been replaced at wideout. Have the issues been sorted out in the locker room? There are probably more questions than answers when it comes to the Seattle football team. The Seahawks are by no means done but they don't look as convincing as they did in 2013.

49ers struggling to find form

At this point of the season in 2013, San Francisco were 6-2. Right now they are playing .500 football, it's hard to see them replicating teh 12-4 season of last year. The 49ers look like a slightly above average team in the NFC. A heavy defeat to Denver and a loss to St Louis has left many wondering about the 49ers credentials this year.

Who would have thought that Colin Kaepernick would have been the most sacked quarterback in the league going into week 10? On a positive note, the 49ers certainly have the abitly to run the football.

Will Jim Harbaugh still be in charge on the West coast at the start of the 2015 season?

The team that likes the West

At 3-5 you might snarl at the St Louis Rams. Take a closer look at the three wins and two have been agains their AFC West rivals. Could they produce a big upset in week 10 when they take on Arizona? Austin Davis doesn't look like the answer behind centre for the Rams. It will be interesting to see if the front office make the quarterback position their main focus in the 2015 draft.

The Rams may not end up with a winning season but they have proven that they can mix it up and Arizona will be all too aware of their divisional wins.

Arians looking good for coach of the year

There is no doubt that the 7-1 Arizona Cardinals are looking good value for money at just over half way point of the regualar season. The latter half of their schedule looks a little more difficult. The outsiders are looking on with anticipation as to whether or not Bruce Arians can keep his football team fit and consistent in the run in to the playoffs.

The Cardianls running game hasn't looked too hot in comparison to the reciever corps. Four signal callers have been used this season. It seems everyone is trying to do their bit at the University of Phoenix Stadium.

There is still plenty of football to be played but don't bet against the Cardinals winning the division. Football is unpredictable and that's why we love it.
