Below you’ll find Over-Priced and Best Buys for Running Backs These are purely my suggestion as to which players come at a reasonable or unreasonable price based on their projected production. Some of them I don’t like based on match-ups while others I love the match-ups but don’t like the price.  

It’s important to note you don’t want to ONLY use the Best Buy Players, this is simply a way to find some “sleepers” to fill your lineup. We still suggest going after studs especially at RB1.

Best Buy Running Backs

Giovani Bernard $7,700 vs. Panthers: Priced as the 4th highest RB may seem extreme but not when you factor in Gio is one of the most consistent RBs in the PPR format averaging 17 points per game. And let’s not forget just how much damage Matt Forte did to the Panthers defense last week…12 catches 105 yards 1 TD and 61 rushing yards for 36 fantasy points. Gio will score a minimum of 24 points this week LOCK IT IN.

LeSean McCoy $6,000 vs. Giants: As Shady told me brother 1st hand… He’s a GIANTS Killer and I believe him. Fact is he’s averaging 20 fantasy points when he’s up against Big Blue. You will NEVER find McCoy this cheap again. Forget about his terrible performances the last few weeks and just remember just how talented this guy is.

Branden Oliver $5,500 vs. Raiders: The Chargers backfield belongs entirely to this rookie at least for Week 6 with Donald Brown, Ryan Mathews, and Danny Woodhead out of action. Coming off a dominant performance in Week 5 in which he was the top scoring RB,  Oliver will get a full opportunity to take advantage of the porous  Raiders defense. 

Fred Jackson $5,000 vs. Patriots: The ageless wonder has scored 19, 14, and 25 fantasy points in his last three outings and is now facing a New England Patriots defense that allows 22 points per game to opposing RBs in the PPR format.  

ABSOLUTE STEAL: Chris Ivory $4,300 vs. Broncos: How are the Jets going to keep Peyton Manning and crew from absolutely decimating their defense? They aren’t. But they’ll try to do it by establishing the rushing attack which means a heavy dose of Chris Ivory. At this point, Ivory is really the only productive player on the entire Gang Green roster. When Ivory plays at home he’s averaging 14 fantasy points per week (on the road is a different story). 

BIG RISK SMALL PRICE: Joique Bell $3,700 vs. Vikings: After missing Week 5 with a concussion, Bell is back for action in Week 6 and we know there’s a chance Reggie Bush doesn’t play due to an ankle injury. If Bell does get the backfield all to himself, he’ll have no problem rushing for 100 yards and a TD. But he’s a risk if it wasn’t for the price just for the fact Bush isn’t ruled out as of this writing (Thursday morning).

Over Priced Running Backs

DeMarco Murray $7,600 vs. Seahawks: I’m well aware what Murray has done in the 1st five games but his streak of getting to over 100 yards comes to an end against Seattle’s Top 5 rushing defense. No running back has ran for more than 70 yards against the Seahawks and that includes Eddie Lacy, Alfred Morris, and Montee Ball.

Justin Forsett $6,100 vs. Buccaneers: The match-up is good but the price is just a bit high considering he’s in a 3 man rotation and $100 more than LeSean McCoy.  Forset’’s been productive scoring 22 and 18 points the last two weeks but he 10 and 11 point games in Week 2 and 3 seem more likely to be his result for Week 6.

Ben Tate $5,500 vs. Steelers: The last time Tate took on the Steelers he was laid up on the sidelines with a knee injury for nearly a month…not exactly the type of track record I’m willing to roll with. 

Bobby Rainey $4,700 vs. Ravens: Even if I don’t buy in to the fact Doug Martin is going to remain the “bell-cow” back for the Bucs, I still don’t buy in to the fact Rainey can produce double digit fantasy stats against Baltimore’s 6th ranked rushing defense.
