Who Could Replace Al Golden At University Of Miami

When was the last time that all three major schools in the state of Florida were under fire for one reason or another at the same time?

• The Florida Gators have become irrelevant in the SEC, having lost their last two games. Will Muschamp, the team’s head coach cannot sit on the chair in his office for fear of third degree burns. Yes, it is THAT hot.

• The Florida State Seminoles cannot take a breath without having to face scrutiny about quarterback Jameis Winston. No matter what the situation, head coach Jimbo Fisher defends the uber-talented quarterback, mainly because he knows full well he cannot win a national title with No. 5 behind center.

• The Miami Hurricanes are the state’s Jeckyll and Hyde team – never knowing which team will show up. The program is talented with speed at receiver, talent in the middle at linebacker and a solid running game. This is a team that should be a threat to challenge for the ACC title, if not a major bowl game.

The Hurricanes are still an enigma unto itself, which is why Al Golden may be searching for a new home in late January. Should Golden receive a pink slip instead of something like a fruit cake or ginger bread, here are six coaches who could replace him in south Florida.

HUGH FREEZE

Everyone seems to think there is only one head coach enjoying success in the Magnolia State. Freeze is creating a buzz at Ole Miss, which means he will be a hot commodity as well. Could Freeze, who is a good recruiter, inject some fire down south?

CHAD MORRIS

The offensive coordinator for Clemson is one of the better assistant coaches in the country. The Miami offense is sluggish. Morris had great success with Sammy Watkins and Tajh Boyd. I would love to see what he could do with Brad Kaaya.

SETH LITTRELL

Littrell joined the Carolina football staff in 2014 as the Tar Heels' assistant head coach for offense and tight ends coach. Under Littrell's guidance last season, Indiana set single-season records with 6,102 total yards, 508.5 yards per game, 461 points, 38.4 points per game, 36 passing touchdowns, 62 total touchdowns and 300 first downs.

JEDD FISCH

The current offensive coordinator with the Jacksonville Jaguars was on the Hurricanes staff before moving on to the NFL.

Fisch was the offensive coordinator in Miami with the Hurricanes from 2011-2012. Allen Hurns was successful under Fisch in Miami and has taken what he knows in the Jaguars offense to have a nice breakout season so far. He could be a consideration.

GARY PATTERSON

The current head coach at TCU. His team is the other feel-good story of the year. And because of his and the school's success as a BCS buster in the past, he could finally be offered a chance to take what was a huge program and make it great again.

JIM HARBAUGH

All I know is Jim Harbaugh will not be the head coach in San Francisco next season. Where he winds up is anyone’s guess. The University of Michigan and the Oakland Raiders are probably the front runner, but the Dolphins should they make a change or Florida in Gainesville could also be in the mix. Personally, I think Coral Gables is a prime location. Harbaugh has a huge persona and needs a huge coach to make this program wholes again.
