Fantasy Football Week 15 Injury Recap and Fantasy Impact

Most of you are in your fantasy championships this week so congratulations on that! As always, if you enjoy this post, follow @HarutNFL_FFBall for more information, advice, and much more fantasy football related. Here we go with the latest injuries from around the league in Week 15.

Quarterbacks:

 Jake Locker, QB, TEN

  • Injury: Shoulder
  • Status: Out
  • Depth Chart: Starter
  • Back-up: Charlie Whitehurst
  • News: Locker took a huge hit and did not return to the game against the Jets.
  • Fantasy ramification: Although Locker played a decent game notching just under 16 fantasy points against the Jets; nor he or Whitehurst will be an option.

Ryan Fitzpatrick, HOU

  • Injury: Broken leg
  • Status: Out
  • Depth Chart: Starter
  • Back-up: Tom Savage
  • News: Fitzpatrick has a broken leg and looks to be done for the year.
  • Fantasy ramification: Tom Savage also actually got a big banged up towards the end of the game. There is no fantasy appeal here.

Colt McCoy, QB, WSH

  • Injury: Neck strain
  • Status: Questionable
  • Depth Chart: Starter
  • Back-up: RG3
  • News: McCoy got hurt on a play very late in the game and did not return.
  • Fantasy ramification: RG3 actually looked pretty good in relief of Colt McCoy on Sunday, but can you really trust him if he gets the nod in your fantasy championship game? That answer is no.

Running Backs:

Rashad Jennings, RB, NYG

  • Injury: Ankle
  • Status: Questionable
  • Depth Chart: Starter
  • Back-up: Andre Williams
  • News: Jennings looke to re-injure his ankle which has kept him out some time this year.
  • Fantasy ramification: Andre Williams has been looking solid as of late and could be worth an add, but has a tough matchup against the Rams next week. He would be a weak FLEX play at best. There are better options out there.

Frank Gore & Carlos Hyde, RB, SF

  • Injury: Concussion / Back
  • Status: Questionable
  • Depth Chart: Starters
  • Back-up: Alfonso Smith
  • News: Gore got knocked out of this one with a concussion and Hyde did so as well in the second half after going down awkwardly.
  • Fantasy ramification: Hyde looked pretty solid in relief of Gore against a tough Seahawks team so this is a situation worth monitoring. He had six carries for 55 yards and if the only healthy running back for the 49ers next week, he is a nice FLEX play with some upside in the 49ers' scheme. The 49ers would also like to see what they have in him as he looks to take over the reigns after Gore retires.

Wide Receivers:

T.Y. Hilton, WR, IND

  • Injury: Hamstring
  • Status: Questionable
  • Depth Chart: Starter
  • Back-up: Reggie Wayne / Donte Moncrief
  • News: Hilton apparently tweaked his hamstring as we learned afterwards. He did finish the game, but was extremely quiet in the second half.
  • Fantasy ramification: If Hilton misses the juicy matchup against the Cowboys in week 16, Donte Moncrief would be the one that benefits most from his absence and would essentially become a solid WR3 for fantasy championship week. Hilton owners or any owners in need of a WR should definitely pick up Moncrif if needed. Hilton is set to get an MRI on Monday.

Keenan Allen, WR, SD

  • Injury: Ankle
  • Status: Questionable
  • Depth Chart: Starter
  • Back-up: Malcom Floyd / Eddie Royal
  • News: Allen was carted off the field after landing awkwardly on his ankle.
  • Fantasy ramification: I believe Floyd and Royal are both worth WR3 consideration while Gates gets a decent boost if Keenan Allen is to miss this upcoming Saturday game against the 49ers. Floyd is the biggest redzone threat with his huge frame and could be the better play here, but it's a fluid situation that is worth monitoring.
