2015 NFL Draft: A Scout's Eye View, Qunton Rollins DB Miami (OH)

Quinten Rollins DB Miami (OH)

Measurables: 6'1 203 30 1/4" arms 9" hands

Combine Results: 4.57 40 yard dash, 14 bench reps, 36.5" vertical jump, 122" broad jump, 7.10 3 cone drill, 4.28 20 yard shuttle, 11.53 60 yard shuttle

Scouting Notes: Big strong sturdy build, physical corner/safety prospect...Played point guard on the Miami (OH) basketball team before joining the football team last year...Lacks the long speed to play corner in the NFL but he plays faster than his 40 time would indicate, probably best suited for safety at the next level...a bit too physical and grabby in man to man coverage down the field, will draw illegal contact and holding calls until he cleans up technique...Lacks ideal speed but he does have quick feet and loose hips...Loses track of receivers down the field too often, inexperience shows in flashes...Very good ball skills, great hands and hand/eye coordination, had seven INT's in 2014, his only season of college football...Impressive leaping ability, not only has a 36,5" vertical, but times his jumps very well...Slow to react in coverage, lets the receiver eat up too much of the cushion before he flips his hips, lets too many receivers get behind him...Big hitter and sound sure tackler...Lack of experience shows in sloppy technique and lack of football savvy, but he has the tools to be a starter at free safety down the road with good coaching and continued development and should be a special teams standout from year one.

Draft Grade:  Early to mid 3rd Round
