Top Five Draft Prospects Heading Into Day Two
1. Randy Gregory: Outside Linebacker, Nebraska
Once considered a consensus top ten pick in the draft, Gregory has tumbled down draft boards over the past month. His biggest issues are his size (6”5’, 235 pounds) and his failed drug test. Regardless of the concerns, he is one of the best edge rushers in the draft class and could be a steal for whoever gets him in the second round.
2. Landon Collins: Safety, Alabama
For most of the lead up to the draft Collins was considered the top safety in this year’s class. Slowly but surely he started to slip down team’s draft boards. Regardless, he is probably the top safety against the run and a big time playmaker. Whoever lands him in the second will be getting great value.
3. Dorial Green-Beckham: Wide Receiver, Missouri
Beckham is one of the top talents in the entire draft. Unfortunately, he also has more baggage than just about any other prospect with countless off the field run-ins. Regardless, getting a player of his caliber in the second round would be worth the risk for a team looking for a playmaking wide receiver.
4. Eddie Goldman: Defensive Tackle, Florida State
Goldman is one of the top defensive tackles in the draft and a team will surely benefit snagging him in the beginning of the second round. He is one of the top run stoppers in this year’s draft class and has no trouble shredding blockers at the point of attack.
5. Owamagbe Odighzuwa: Defensive End, UCLA
Odighzuwa is one of the top pass rushers available and has the ability to be a superstar in this league. He is a freak athlete and would fit in a 3-4 or 4-3 defensive scheme. Look for him to go in the first ten picks in the second round.
