NFL Awards Week 9 (Tom Terrific Edition)

Hello and welcome in to the NFL awards for week 10, where the month of November is here and the games are getting bigger, which means the awards are getting better.

Or something like that.

This week...Tom owns Peyton...again...the Cowboys continue their slide back to 8-8, and did the Chargers even show up in Miami?

And you know what that means. "Angry Philip Rivers" is here. And he's angry.

Also this week...will there be any healthy quarterbacks left in the NFC East, the Rams befuddle the 49ers again, and the AFC North continues to be the best division in football.

So find a seat and let's get started.

NFL Picks Week 10 (Battle for Ohio Edition)

The NFL schedule hits double digits this week, which means the games are really starting to matter now.

And one of the biggest games this week is the very first one that will be played, as the Bengals and Browns battle for Ohio (and first place in the suddenly stout AFC North).

Also this week...the 'Niners head to New Orleans needing a win more than the Saints (which is something you would never have said a month ago), the oldest rivalry in the NFL renews again, and America's Team heads to London desperate for a W.

All for entertainment purposes only.

Byes this week belong to the Chargers (5-4), the Colts (6-3), the Patriots (7-2), the Redskins (3-6), the Texans (4-5) & the Vikings (4-5).

Last week: 8-5

Overall: 71-63

College Football Awards Week 10 (Falling Back Edition)

Hello and welcome to the week ten edition of the college football awards, where we can't promise that we'll be a good use of that extra hour everyone got on Saturday night, but we can promise to award the best and worst of college football for another week.

This week...the Seminoles survive in Louisville, TCU walks off a winner in West Virginia, and Ole Miss has about as bad a finish to a game as you can imagine.

Also this week...Mississippi's other team escapes a hog rush in Starkville and Oregon finally gets their revenge on Stanford.

So let's get to it.

NFL Picks Week 9 (Second Half Begins Edition)

It's time for the second half of the NFL season, and while everyone will be changing their clocks back the night before the next NFL Sunday dawns, the NFL season won't be "falling back" anytime soon.

Sometimes, I hate myself.

This week...Brady and Peytie together again, the Dallas drama welcomes the best team in the NFC, and someone will actually have a .500 record in the NFC South after this week.

No really.

This is also the lightest week of the NFL schedule, with only 13 games scheduled.

And it's all for entertainment purposes only.

Byes this week: the Bears (3-5), the Bills (5-3), the Falcons (2-6), the Lions (6-2), the Packers (5-3) & the Titans (2-6).

Last week: 9-6

Overall: 63-58

College Football Picks Week 10 (Welcome to November Edition)

Hello and welcome to the last month (more like 5 weeks) of the college football regular season.

Yes. I don't know where all the time went, either.

Anyway, things are really starting to get serious now, and not that I condone this type of thing, but if there was ever a time to live and day with every snap of every game, it's now.

This week...the hot Horned Frogs try not to chill out in Morgantown, the SEC West continues to cannibalize itself, and the Ducks look to avoid yet another Cardinal sin.

And as it is every week, these are for entertainment purposes only.

Last week: 5-5

Overall: 37-52

College Football Awards Week 9 (Mississippi Burning Edition)

Hello and welcome to week nine of the college football awards, where we're under the weather, but soldiering on, anyway.

Because where would we be without our daily dose of bad jokes and pointless puns from America's favorite fake awards show?

That's a rhetorical question. Please don't answer it.

This week...Hugh Freeze has brain freeze, LSU's taker of souls collects another one, TCU hangs 82 on Tech and the fashion police are stopping by yet again.

That is if my sinus-addled brain can remember all of that by the time I get to the slides.

But I'm not making any promises.

Let's get to it.

College Football Picks Week 9 (Playoff Push Begins Edition)

Now it gets serious, folks.

Everyone out there that wanted a college football playoff, enjoy yourselves this weekend, because, unless things change in the future, the upcoming unveiling of the inaugural college football rankings will officially usher us into a new era of college football.

That being said, there aren't a ton of marquee match-ups to get us to the promised land, either.

This week...we finally pay attention to the Big Ten, and hey, Kentucky's here again, too.

Also this week...a lot more Pac-12 and a lot more SEC.

Because I never said I didn't have a bias, either.

And it's all for entertainment purposes only.

Last week: 6-4

Overall: 32-47
