Fantasy Football Week 13 Injury Recap and Fantasy Impact

If you enjoy this post, follow @HarutNFL_FFBall for more information, advice, and much more fantasy football related.

Quarterbacks:

Zach Mettenberger, QB, TEN

  • Injury: Grade 1 AC Joint
  • Status: Questionable
  • Depth Chart: Starter
  • Back-up: Jake Locker
  • News: Mettenberger got hurt on a play where J.J. Watt fell on top of him and did not return to the game. He did say he expects to play this coming week.
  • Fantasy ramification: Unless you are in a bizarre three quarterback league, there is no fantasy impact here.

Running Backs:

Andre Ellington, RB, ARI

  • Injury: Hip Pointer
  • Status: Questionable
  • Depth Chart: Starter
  • Back-up: Marion Grice
  • News: Ellington suffered a hip pointer injury that isn't believed to be serious against the Falcons yesterday. He may miss a week, but the belief is he should be back relatively soon.
  • Fantasy ramification: This is an ugly situation with recently signed Michael Bush getting mixed into the action in addition to Marion Grice and Stepfan Taylor. If you are extremely desperate, Marion Grice would be my "favorite" play if Ellington misses any time.

Rashad Jennings, RB, NYG

  • Injury: Ankle
  • Status: Questionable
  • Depth Chart: Starter
  • Back-up: Andre Williams
  • News: Jennings injured his ankle late in the game against the Jaguars and did not return. He spoke afterwards and noted that he's not worried about missing much time, but played are always optimistic about their injuries.
  • Fantasy ramification: We all saw what Andre Williams did when Jennings did miss some time. Absolutely nothing. We shouldn't expect any different if Jennings does miss time, which doesn't sound too likely this time around. Nonetheless, Williams would be a decent flex play with the good matchups coming up.

Wide Receivers:

Torrey Smith, WR, BAL

  • Injury: Foot
  • Status: Questionable
  • Depth Chart: Starter
  • Back-up: Steve Smith / Jacoby Jones
  • News: No one saw Torrey Smith actually get hurt and the Ravens have been quiet about it, but in a crucial last drive, Torrey Smith didn't see the field. He was spotted limping after the game.
  • Fantasy ramification: Steve Smith would obviously get a nice boost if Torrey Smith misses any time and there just are too many solid fantasy wide receivers out there to even consider giving Jacoby Jones a shot. Torrey Smith will likely be day-to-day, but it is definitely something to watch as neither the Ravens nor he wanted to comment on the injury.

Justin Hunter, WR, TEN

  • Injury: Lacerated Spleen
  • Status: Out
  • Depth Chart: Starter
  • Back-up: Kendall Wright / Nate Washington
  • News: Hunter left the game early after being lit up and had to be hospitalized. It's not looking good for him in a disappointing season.
  • Fantasy ramification: If Hunter misses time, which seems likely, Wright will get quite a nice of a boost in his inconsistent year. Wright is a decent WR3 in PPR formats and an inconsistent low-end WR3 in standard formats. Wright should be getting more looks in the coming weeks and is worth the add if available and in need.

DeSean Jackson, WR, WAS

  • Injury: Fibula Contusion
  • Status: Questionable
  • Depth Chart: Starter
  • Back-up: Pierre Garcon / Andre Roberts
  • News: Jackson got hurt twice in the game against the Colts and the second time around, did not return.
  • Fantasy ramification: He couldn't finish the game so his status for next week is already in question. He was spotted limiping afterwards like all stars are after a tough game. He will probably undergo an MRI relatively soon so we should know more then. Garcon has been an afterthought in this dysfunctonal offense and Andre Roberts has been decent. If Jackson does miss time, I guess Garcon could be worth giving a shot to salvage this disappointing season.

Miles Austin, WR, CLE

  • Injury: Kidney
  • Status: Out
  • Depth Chart: Starter
  • Back-up: Andrew Hawkins
  • News: Miles Austin got hurt after trying to hurdle someone on the sideline for no reason and also had to be hospitalized.
  • Fantasy ramification: Miles Austin is not a fantasy option whether he plays or not. This just may mean Andrew Hawkins might get some more looks and I should also note that Jordan Cameron is on the verge of returning so if you're in need of a tight end, add him.

Aaron Dobson, WR, NE

  • Injury: Hamstring
  • Status: Questionable
  • Depth Chart: Back-up
  • Back-up: None
  • News: Dobson only played 4 snap and on one of those 4, pulled up on his lone target.
  • Fantasy ramification: No fantasy ramification here at all.
