Where Does Notre Dame Stand With The 2015 Recruiting Class?

With the end to the 2014 season, the recruiting trail has picked up and is getting very hot for the Irish.

This week, the Irish received financial aid paperwork from one of the nation's elite offensive prospects and another top defensive lineman.

Jerry Tillery and Micah Dew-Treadway have unofficially-officially started their early enrollee process to become students and eventually big time players for Notre Dame.

Tevon Coney is also expected to enroll early and submit his paperwork within the coming days.

Jerry Tillery overall rankings by service:

With but a few open slots, here are the possible players that could complete the class of 2015:

RB Ronald Jones: Current OK State pledge;Jamabo could influence decision

RB Soso Jamabo: Would be one of the faces of the class; one of the top backs in the country

CB Iman Marshall: Possibly the top cb in the country; would play in 2015;leaning heavy USC

CB Ykili Ross: Marshall to USC could pull Ross to ND

Tony Alford Leaving?

With only one runningback currently pledged to the class of 2015, the clear area of need remains the backfield heading into February. And of note is the rumor that heralded recruiter and current Irish runningbacks coach Tony Alford could be in line for the Colorado State opening.

Alford has been crucial for Irish recruiting, and was, in part- why defensive tackle Louis Nix came to Notre Dame.

Alford played running back at CSU from 1987-1990.

He's spent the past six season's at Notre Dame. Prior to joining Notre Dame, Alford coached at Iowa State, Louisville, Washington, Kent State and Fort Collins High School.

Alford has supplanted himself in the southern regions of the country, pulling some big names to South Bend like Greg Bryant and Tarean Folston.

If Alford leaves Notre Dame for another program, it would lose a dynamic voice on the recruiting trail.
