Tennessee Titans: Top 3 Free Agents To Target This Offseason
The Tennessee Titans finished 2013 with a 7-9 record and fired then head coach Mike Munchak. The result was the team hired former Arizona head coach Ken Whisenhunt, who was said to be somewhat of a quarterback guru, hoping he could cure the problems that exist with Jake Locker.
The Titans finished the season 2-14, may have been the worst team in the league and have plenty of holes to fill.
Most notably, those problems exist behind center. While rookie ach Mettenberger showed promise in his first campaign in the NFL, was it enough for the team to potentially pass on Marcus Mariota or Jameis Winston? Was it enough for him to take a bigger leap in his second NFL season?
According to Sports World Report, there are teams that may be interested in acquiring Jay Cutler of the Chicago Bears with Tennessee potentially being one of them.
“The Bears had a losing season in 2014 and the franchise moved on from Phil Emery and Marc Trestman and now Fox takes over after being hired by GM Ryan Pace,” the report states.“ According to Pro Football Talk, Fox was "noncommittal" when asked about Cutler's future in his opening press conference, but it's early in the process and that doesn't give a signal about what the team will do. Cutler was benched in Week 16 of the season for Jimmy Clausen and hit future is up in the air with $15.5 million coming his way next year.”
If Cutler does become the eye of the Titans’ affection it throws a bit of a curve in the potential free agent market and the upcoming NFL Draft. These Titans have issues almost everywhere on the field. Finding players to fill roster spots and improve the roster should not be a problem. Finding the right players might be another issue.
Here is a look at three free agents the team should take a look at in free agency.
