2011 Second-Round Picks On Contract Years: Offense

Mikel Leshoure, Lions Running Back

- Draft Position: 57th Overall

- Mikel Leshoure missed all of his rookie year with an injury, ran for 800 yards and 9 touchdowns in his sophomore season, and saw just two rushing attempts in 2013. Leshoure is stuck behind Reggie Bush and Joique Bell, who will split carries as one of the league\'s better halfback tandems. Barring injury, Leshoure is not likely to get extensive playing time. Leshoure is only 24 years old, though, so it will be shocking if a team does not sign him after his contract runs out.

Daniel Thomas, Dolphins Running Back

- Draft Position: 62nd Overall

- Considering the Dolphins have had a problem at running back for the past few years, Daniel Thomas has failed to live up to expectations. While no one really projected Thomas to be an every-down back, he has failed to even be a goal-line back. The projected starter, Knowshon Moreno has done very little outside of a Manning-assisted 2013, while last year\'s starter, Lamar Miller, has not developed into a consistent threat. With neither back being as strong as Thomas, he will likely receive most of the goal-line carries, but unless he manages to top his touchdown total in 2013, four, it would not be surprising if he remains unsigned after this contract expires.

Shane Vereen, Patriots Running Back

- Draft Position: 56th Overall

- Of the three running backs taken in the second round, Shane Vereen may have the least rushing yards, but is in the best situation to be resigned. Vereen may also have received the least carries between the Patriots\' 2013 trio of running backs, but led them with 47 receptions for 427 yards. The 25-year-old scatback is likely the Patriots favorite running back currently on the roster, considering Stevan Ridley\'s fumbling problems. If the Patriots do not resign Vereen before he becomes a free agent, another team will surely pick him up.

Torrey Smith, Ravens Wide Receiver

- Draft Position: 58th Overall

- Torrey Smith is the prototypical wide receiver and after two 800-yard seasons, he finally broke 1,000. In three years, Smith has recorded 2,824 yards for a 17.2 yards per catch average and nearly 20 touchdowns. Smith has developed into more than just a deep threat, becoming a reliable target for Joe Flacco. The Ravens are expected to resign Smith, and whether it is before or after the season, Smith should remain a Ravens.

Randall Cobb, Packers Wide Receiver

- Draft Position: 64th Overall

- Randall Cobb broke out in his sophomore season, catching 80 passes for 954 yards and 8 touchdowns. Cobb was on pace to top those totals in 2013, but missed most of the season with an injury. While he has had limited playing time, starting only 12 of the 36 games he was available for, the Packers definitely got great value out of this pick. James Jones, Greg Jennings, and Donald Driver are all gone, so Cobb will finally get the chance to start for 16 games. He will still have to share targets with Jordy Nelson, but there is enough passes to go around for both receivers to top 1,000 yards.

Lance Kendricks, Rams Tight End

- Draft Position: 47th Overall

- Lance Kendricks has quietly been a solid contributor to the Rams passing attack. After touchdown-less rookie season, Kendricks recorded 42 receptions for 519 yards and four touchdowns. Kendricks totals jumped down, though, in 2013, recording only 258 yards. The 26-year-old tight end will look to top his 2012 totals, his lone year will a fully healthy Sam Bradford. Jared Cook, though, will stand in his way. Cook joined the Rams in 2013 and beat Kendricks\' 2012 season totals in terms of receptions, yards, and touchdowns. If Kendricks can either beat out Cook and/or outproduce him, then it is likely that the Rams will resign him. If his totals drop once again, then he may not even get a chance from another team. Considering how heavily-invested the Rams are into Cook, Kendricks is in an unfavorable situation.

Orlando Franklin, Broncos Offensive Guard

- Draft Position: 46th Overall

- Orlando Franklin has started 47 games over his three year career at right tackle, but is transitioning to the left guard position. Ryan Clady, the Broncos starting left tackle, will return from injury, while Chris Clark will move to right tackle. With Manny Ramirez and Louis Vaszuez inside, the Broncos are set to have a top-five offensive line in 2014. If the Broncos are to keep this line together, they must resign Franklin, so unless he fails to successfully adjust to inside play, then he will remain a Bronco.

Marcus Gilbert, Steelers Offensive Tackle

- Draft Position: 63rd Overall

- Marcus Gilbert has had an uneven career, but the Steelers do not exactly have a replacement. Kelvin Beachum is starting at left tackle, while Guy Whimper and Mike Adams and below average veterans. Gilbert is not necessarily a bust, but he still has a bit to prove. Whether the Steelers resign him or not will certainly depend on his play in 2014. Gilbert is a prototypical tackle, so a team will likely pick him up if he becomes a free agent.

Stefen Wisniewski, Raiders Center

- Draft Position: 48th Overall

- Starting 45 games, Stefen Wisniewski has developed into one of the better centers in the league. At 25 years old, Wisniewski is also young and should get a lot better. The Raiders have a lot of holes, but at least they know that they have a good centerpiece to build their offensive line around. It would be very surprising if the Raiders did not extend his contract during the season, and even more so if they let him walk.

Rodney Hudson, Chiefs Center

- Draft Position: 55th Overall

- Rodney Hudson has started 19 games, 15 of which were in 2013. After sitting on the bench in his rookie year and missing his sophomore season with an injury, he was mildly impressive in 2013. Very possibly the best linemen on the Chiefs, with both Branden Albert and Jon Asamoah gone, the Chiefs will defintely want to resign him. They may want to wait, though, after the season is over, to see if he develops into a better player. The Chiefs will likely sign Hudson, but if he takes a step back and walks in free agency, he will certainly be picked up by another team.
