Daily Fantasy Football Week 5: DraftKings Best Buy and Over Priced

Some people play the Lotto. Some people bet on horses. Some people pull the lever on a slot machine.

But EVERYBODY LOVES winning money playing Fantasy Football and this week there’s $2.5 MILLION DOLLARS up for grabs with $1,000,000 going to first place, that’s ONE MILLION for those of you having trouble counting all those zeroes.

The Top 15,000 people will cash in which is 1 out of every 6 players. The odds are in your favor and it’s time to buy that Ferrari you’ve been dreaming about. Click here to get in on the action.

Below you’ll find Over-Priced and Best Buys for QBs, RBs, WRs, and TEs. These are purely my suggestion as to which players come at a reasonable or unreasonable price based on their projected production. Some of them I don’t like based on match-ups while others I love the match-ups but don’t like the price.

It’s important to note you don’t want to ONLY use the Best Buy Players, this is simply a way to find some “sleepers” to fill your lineup. We still suggest going after studs especially at RB1 and WR1.

Best Buy Quarterbacks

Andrew Luck $8,700 vs. Ravens: Luck is leading all QBs in scoring yet his salary is 5th for the position.

Jay Cutler $7,700 vs. Panthers: The Carolina defense was RIPPED by Joe Flacco…JOE FLACCO in Week 4. Cutler has much better weapons than the Ravens.

Ben Roethlisberger $7,400  vs. Jaguars: Jacksonville has given up THE MOST points to opposing QBs.

ABSOLUTE STEAL: Philip Rivers $7,000  vs. Jets: “Gang Green” is getting torched by opposing QBs giving up 9 passing TDs in 4 game

BIG RISK/SMALL PRICE: Kyle Orton $5,000 vs. Lions: He is the lowest priced starting QB for Week 5.

Over Priced Quarterbacks

Peyton Manning $9,200 vs. Cardinals: There’s no doubt Peyton is the best QB in the game but his salary is $2,200 MORE than Philip Rivers who we think will finish with very similar points… Just to expensive.

Matt Ryan $8,100 vs. Giants: Atlanta’s offensive line is really banged up and the Giants are getting after the Quarterback, pump the brakes on Ryan this week.

Colin Kaepernick $7,800 vs. Chiefs: Not sure why Kaep is priced so high this week. The Chiefs have yet to give up more than 270 passing yards and just made Tom Brady look like a High School backup.

Geno Smith $6,700 vs. Chargers: Fans want Vick but Rex Ryan says Geno is his guy…regardless he’s definitely not your guy for Week 5.

Best Buy Running Backs:

DeMarco Murray $7,500 vs. Texans: He’s the Number 1 RB in fantasy points yet ranked 4th for salary. Over 100 yards and a TD in 4 straight games and we think he’ll make it 5 in a row…

Giovani Bernard $6,700 vs. Patriots: In a Full Point PPR like DraftKings, Gio is an absolute GEM. Jamaal Charles ripped the Patriots in the passing attack in Week 4 and think Gio can do the same.

Rashad Jennings $5,500 vs. Falcons: The Vikings ran ALL OVER the Falcons in Week 4 and Jennings is coming off a blowout win on Thursday night football where he barely rushed the ball in the 2nd Half. He’s well rested and ready for action against a very weak run defense.

ABSOLUTE STEAL: Ahmad Bradshaw $4,000 vs. Ravens: Bradshaw has been quite the Draft Day steal considering he’s getting into the end-zone every week and can be your DraftKings Steal considering he’s one of the cheapest starting RBs for Week 5.

BIG RISK/SMALL PRICE: Khiry Robinson $3,000 vs. Buccaneers: The Saints are looking for a big bounce back game after an embarrassing loss to the Cowboys. Robinson should have plenty of chances to cross the goal-line.

Over Priced Running Backs

Jamaal Charles $7,600 vs. 49ers: San Fran Defense is give up the 5th least points to opposing RBs making this match-up VERY shaky for Charles.

Montee Ball $6,500 vs. Cardinals: Typically we like anyone on the Broncos because they score so many points but this is a BRUTAL match-up for Ball. No RB has scored more than 10 points vs. Arizona this year.

Donald Brown $5,400 vs. Jets: Brown is another victim of a bad match-up. Teams can pass on the Jets but they can’t run against them.

Toby Gerhart $4,800 vs Steelers: The Jaguars Offense is miserable and Toby Gerhart has yet to eclipse 45 rushing yards this year.

Best Buy Wide Receivers

Brandon Marshall $7,200 vs. Carolina: There are 7 WRs with a higher price than Marshall and yet Marshall has one of the best match-ups of the week.

Keenan Allen $5,800 vs. Jets: Like we said for his QB, the Jets are getting torched by the passing attack and we think Allen (NOT EDDIE ROYAL) will get into the end-zone this week.

Michael Floyd $5,300 vs. Broncos: The Denver/Arizona game is going to be one of the highest scoring games of the week and we know Floyd is the biggest WR threat for the Cards.

ABSOLUTE STEAL: Kelvin Benjamin $4,800 vs. Bears: The rookie receiver has 3 TDs in 4 games and is averaging 18 fantasy points per game.

BIG RISK/SMALL PRICE: Andrew Hawkins $3,500 vs. Titans: He’s a PPR machine and only reliable receiving threat on the run heavy Browns. He’s yet to catch less than 6 passes this year and hasn’t scored less than 13 fantasy points in the PPR format.

Over Priced Wide Receivers:

Calvin Johnson $8,200 vs. Bills: If you are willing to spend $8,200 on Calvin you better be damn sure he’s going to finish as the Number 1 receiver for Week 5 because that’s what he’s priced as.

Andre Johnson $6,400 vs. Cowboys: In his best game this year (Week 1) Andre scored just 15 points, simply not enough potential for a MONSTER day to be listed at that price.

Vincent Jackson $5,900 vs. Saints: If it wasn’t for a last second (game winning) TD in Week 4, V-Jax wouldn’t have scored over double digit fantasy points this year.

DeSean Jackson $4,600 vs. Seahawks: Jackson has been very disappointing outside of his game vs. the Eagles and can’t be trusted vs. the Legion of BOOM.

Best Buy Tight Ends

Julius Thomas $6,900 vs. Cardinals: If Jimmy Graham is the Number 1 TE in the league, Thomas is a VERY close second and yet costs $700 less than Graham this week.

Larry Donnell $5,700 vs. Falcons: Coming off a dominant 3 TD performance in Week 4, it’s crystal clear Eli Manning loves throwing to him in the Red-Zone, not to mention he’s had at least 5 receptions every game this year.

Delanie Walker $4,300 vs. Browns: Walker has scored in 3 out of 4 games this year and is the only reliable option on the Titans passing attack.

ABSOLUTE STEAL: Travis Kelce $3,000 vs. 49ers: His match-up is terrible but Kelce is such a big part of the Cheifs passing attack it's hard to ignore.

BIG RISK SMALL PRICE: Dwayne Allen $3,000 vs. Ravens: He’s found the end-zone in back to back games and scored 3 times in his last 4 games but Allen also shares targets with fellow TE Coby Fleener.

Over Priced Tight Ends

Jimmy Graham $7,600 vs. Buccaneers: Like we said for Calvin Johnson, there’s not doubt Graham is the best TE in the league but will he finish as the BEST in Week 5 because at a gawdy $7,600, that’s what his price point requires.

Niles Paul $5,100 vs. Seahawks: He suffered a concussion in Week 4 and his status for Week 5 is unknown, making matters worse is the fact he plays on Monday Night, not worth that risk of him not being active. Not to mention the match-up vs the Legion of BOOM is terrifying.

Jason Witten $4,200 vs. Texans: His best game of the year game just last week in which he caught 5 passes for 61 yards which equates to a whopping 11 fantasy points.
