Chicago Bears: Top 3 Free Agents To Target This Offseason

For some reason, I think there could be a tug-o-war between the Oakland Raiders and the Chicago Bears over which free agents from Denver they can sign. With John Fox now with the Bears and Jack Del Rio on the bay in Oakland, could this be a simple case of offense versus defense? Will money talk regardless of the position and can the Bears take advantage of the fact Fox was winner and Denver and when all is said and done, winning (along with money) is the main reason players move form team to team.

This is a new regime for the Bears – eliminating the former head coach and general manager and bringing in new management, new ideas a new head coach and a new culture to the organization. Fox cannot solve all the problems with the Bears, which are mainly on defense, but he can surely count on his staff, which includes new offensive coordinator Adam Gase to cure them with his own elixir.

ESPN.com’s Michael C. Wright wrote in his final report card for the Bears season, “Following a promising 2013 campaign when the offense ranked No. 2 in scoring during Marc Trestman's first year at the helm, the Chicago Bears entered 2014 with sky-high expectations, only to experience a colossal letdown with five consecutive losses to close the season. Ownership had no other choice but to clean house.”

He hit the nail right on the head. Jay Cutler’s contract, injuries to free agents they signed in 2013 and the fact the defense could not get out of its own way, Chicago finished the 2014 season as arguably the most underachieving club in the NFL, given all the talent on offense.

Here are three free agents this team should target in free agency this off-season.
