Indianapolis Colts: 3 New Year's Resolutions for 2015

The Indianapolis Colts had a good year.  And then they ran into an immovable force.  Forget the size of the balls.  It's not about the size.  It's about the talent.  And the Colts need to resolve to bring some talent to surround their all-everything quarterback, Andrew Luck.

1. Running game

Yes, Dan "Boom" Herron played okay, except when it mattered.  Trent Richardson is a bust.  And then there is maybe one?

Zurlon Tipton who was active for the AFC Championship Game while Richardson was declared inactive for the game. Tipton may be the one?

Herron and Tipton may be the start of something good.  But what do you do with Richardson and all you gave up for him?

The Colts need to resolve not to make rash purchases.  They should also consider how to rid themselves of said purchase.

2. Special Teams

They have an all-pro punter.  They have an all pro-kicker.  But what about a semi-good return man?

Josh Cribbs was once that man.  Now in the two biggest games of the season he has shown that those days are over.  Cribbs fumbled a return in the AFC Divisional game against the Denver Broncos.  Fortunately he received a favorable/questionable call.  Then in the next week, Cribbs took a punt to the face mask against the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game.  It didn't get better.  No favorable call saved him or the Colts.

The Colts need to improve thier special teams.

3. Defensive Line

When Tom Brady runs for 13 yards on you, you may have problems.  When LeGarrette Blount runs for 148 yards and three touchdowns, you know you have a problem.

The Colts' defensive line has problems.

The Colts need to resolve to get tougher in their front defensive line.  Either by addition or subtraction.  Either way in the division they are in they cannot afford a repeat performance.

Since moving is not a option, they need to resolve to not having their defensive line being bullied by the big men anymore.
