Can Jeremy Hill Win You A Cool Million Dollars?

Do you play Fantasy Football? If the answer is yes, this week you will again have one of the most exciting opportunities in the history of the game. Win a MILLION DOLLARS playing Fantasy Football this week!! When you open a new account at Draft Kings and make an initial deposit of $25 (or more), this week you will also receive a FREE $27 ENTRY into this week’s Millionaire Maker contest.  Simply go to www.FFChamps.com/million and get in on the action.

Jeremy Hill Could Be Your Key To $1,000,000 At Draft Kings This Week

The Bengals' starting running, Giovani Bernard, did not practice again this Thursday (Oct 30) due to various injuries including a hip issue and there are reports out there that he will not be playing this weekend.

What does this mean for us in daily fantasy over at Draft Kings?  Well the key to winning the big million dollar contests and the GPPs in general is to find those lower priced players that allow you to lock up the higher priced studs and then look for those lower guys to blow up.  Last week, the million dollar winner, Leav11, plugged in Brandon LaFell at $4,800, who promptly lit it up for 32.4 points.  Nice!!!

This is why this injury to Bernard could set up a great situation for us in Daily Fantasy.  Bernard's replacement is Jeremy Hill and he only costs $4,000 of our salary cap.  Against the Jaguars, Hill could be in for a huge, and I mean really huge, game.

Why you ask?

Well, let me list the reasons below:

- Just like Bernard, Hill is a pass catching RB, and Draft Kings is full point PPR.

- In games where he has seen significant action, weeks 2, 6 & 8, he is averaging 13.8 FFPG, not bad for playing only part of a game.

- Its likely that AJ Green will be back in action so even if they could, the Jaguars will not be able to stack the box to stop the run.

- If the Bengals get up early, which is entirely possible, they are going to simply run the ball down the Jaguars' throat.

- And finally the Jacksonville Jaguars defense is terrible.  They are giving up an average of 100 yards on the ground and are giving up the 4th most fantasy points to RBs in the passing game.

So, watch that injury report and confirm that Bernard will be on the bench and slot Jeremy Hill into your lineup preferably in your flex slot to give yourself some flexiblity (but RB2 is OK too), at only $4,000 Hill will allow you to target those higher priced players, like Gronk or TY Hilton or Demaryius Thomas or Tom Brady or even Peyton, that you want and need in your lineup to win the big money contests at Draft Kings.

Again, watch the Sunday morning active/inactive, if Bernard is indeed inactive or severly limited go ahead and relax and let Hill take you for a ride, if Bernard somehow makes it back and it looks like he will play at least somewhat, there are plenty of players in the $4,000 area who while they might not blow up are solid plays, one I can suggest is Darren Sproles at $4,100 and there are many others.

Good luck!

Auburn at Ole Miss: Five Things You Need To Know

Auburn is the defending champion of the Southeastern Conference, and was less than a minute away from winning a national title in Gus Malzahn's first season as Auburn's head coach.Ole Miss is 7-1 for the first time in many years, and is in the top 10 nationally for the first time since the early stages of the 2009 season.
Although the Rebels lost their first game last Satruday against LSU at venerable Tiger Stadium, all is not lost for coach Hugh Freeze and the Rebels. With a win against Auburn--which would be their first since 2012, Freeze's first season, Ole Miss could set themselves up for the potential to have a special season in Freeze's third year as Ole Miss' head coach.

Here are five things to look for as the Rebels and Tigers prepare to meet Saturday at 6 p.m. at Vaught-Hemingway. ESPN will televise this matchup.

1. The Rebels defense against the Tigers offense

Both coaches--Freeze and Malzahn--are proponents of the spread offense, although Auburn's version favors the run more prominently. A solid running game has been a staple at Auburn for many years. Remember Joe Cribbs, Bo Jackson, Ronnie Brown and Carnell "Cadillac" Williams? This season, Cameron Artis-Payne has seen plenty of chances to showcase his skill. So far, he's averaged over 118 yards a game, making him the third leading rusher in the Southeastern Conference. Quarterback Nick Marshall has been averaging over 96 yards running.
This will be a challenge to the Rebel defense, who has averaged giving up 10.5 points a game, and only eight touchdowns through eight games. Although LSU ran roughshod over the Ole Miss defense last Saturday in Baton Rouge--over 250 yards for the Tigers--they were only able to muster one touchdown.

It will be an intrguing matchup between the Rebels' "D" and Auburn's running game. Granted, Ole Miss will be without linebacker Denzel Nkemdiche, who suffered a season-ending ankle injury which required surgery, there will be others to step up.

2. Bryant, Shackleford will do well filling in

Linebackers Serderius Bryant and Deterrian Shackelford will be more than adequate to step in and fill Denzel's shoes against Auburn. Both have put together solid games throughout the season, and will again answer the call of defensive coordinator Dave Wommack when the chance presents itself.

3. Ole Miss' running game needs to step up

The storyline from last week's debacle in Baton Rouge was that the Ole Miss offense was never able to find any semblance of getting in synch. While the defense came up with four turnovers, the offense didn't follow through on the opportunities given to them. Granted, LSU's defense is no laughing matter, and they played a part in causing Ole Miss' offense to be out of rhythm. What will help Ole Miss will be for the running game to take charge early and often. Jaylen Walton, I'Tavius Mathers and company--even QB Bo Wallace has been known to tuck the ball and run for good yardage--needs to make the most of their chances to help keep Auburn's offense at bay.

4. Maybe There Is A Flaw in Auburn's defense??

Last week, albeit a losing effort, South Carolina scored 35 points and gained over 500 yards against Auburn's defense. If there is a flaw in the Tiger defense, Ole Miss needs to exploit it, and exploit it early and often. The Rebels have as much talent offensively as South Carolina. They need to focus and execute the plays that are called.

5. Put LSU loss in rear view mirror

Perhaps last week's trip to Baton Rouge was the Rebels' "bad game" of the season. Every team is entitled to have at least one bad game, and maybe the LSU game can qualify.

Again, Ole Miss should feel good that the powers that be on the College Football Playoff committee saw fit to put them No. 4 in their poll, a spot behind Auburn. In order for the Rebels to get back to the winning form that they had the previous seven weeks, each and every player, coach, fan, whoever has to put the loss to LSU in the rear view mirror. Senior quarterback Bo Wallace and the rest of the Rebels should be glad that they will be in front of the home crowd, which should be more than a strong asset to them.
Wallace needs to regain the spunk and fire that helped the Rebels get to a 7-0 mark. He needs to return to the "Good" Bo and "Effective" Bo that he'd been recently. He and the offensive coaches, as well as coach Freeze, needs to be on the proverbial same page. The defense did all they could last week. The offense needs to regain the form they had against Texas A&M, Tennessee, and maintain it through four full quarters.
Again, the Rebels still have a lot to play for. They still have a chance to have a special season.

It starts against Auburn.

The Perfect Coach To Replace Falcons' Mike Smith Will Shock You

This season the Atlanta Falcons, from the NFC South, entered 2014 will high expectations after having a down 2013 season. The 2013 Falcons were impacted by key injuries and the inability to come up big in the crucial spots. It led to a 4-12 record in 2013 and lots of lowlights to go along with it.

This season the Falcons started 2-1 and appeared to be a team on a mission. That has been anything but the case and now the Falcons sit at 2-6 and losers of five straight games. This season appears to be a lost cause, but their saving grace is the fact they play in an NFC South division that no one seems to be pulling away from the pack.

The Falcons blew a double digit lead in their game this past Sunday against the Detroit Lions. The Lions came out victorious 22-21 and this has left the Atlanta Falcons searching for answers. As I just mentioned, their only saving grace is that the NFC South is still winnable for Atlanta despite only having two wins to this point.

The big question will now be how long until the Falcons make a change at head coach? Falcons’ Head Coach Mike Smith has had a great run of success since becoming the head guy in 2008. After this 2-6 start his time in Atlanta may be coming to an end sooner rather than later.

If Smith was to be let go as Head Coach of the Atlanta Falcons, who would be the best fit to take over in Atlanta? I have thought about this issue and one surprise name that I keep thinking of resides in Texas.

That surprise head coach that I feel would be a great match for the Falcons is Baylor Head Coach Art Briles. Yes, I know he is not a name that many people know a lot about, but he is a guy that could be a sleeper hire this coming offseason for a big time college team or even an NFL team as I have suggested here.

Briles is currently in his 7th season with the Baylor Bears and has done one of the best jobs in college football history in the way he has put Baylor on the map. Before Briles arrival at Baylor they were a rundown program that had no publicity, significant honors or even a thought in the landscape of big time college football.

Since he took over at Baylor the Bears have had the honor of having a Heisman Trophy winner, a Fiesta Bowl appearance and won a share of the Big 12 title in 2013.

Briles was a very successful high school coach in Texas before making the jump to the college game and it has been an instant success ever since he made that decision. Briles has brought a “cool factor” to Baylor with new uniforms, a new multimillion dollar stadium and most importantly, huge success in the win column.

Briles has mentioned how he is intrigued with trying his air attack type offense at the NFL level. Briles has an offensive system that allows the quarterback and receivers to air it out early and often.

The offense that Briles runs at Baylor offers more attempts of passes 20 or more yards than basically any other team in football and that goes for both college and the NFL. I believe his interest level in coaching at the NFL level is real and if the right team offers he will likely take the job.

He was rumored to be up for the Texas Longhorns’ opening this past offseason, but he turned down any serious talks to remain at Baylor. He might have made this decision to continue building his legacy at Baylor in hopes that it would eventually lead to an offer in the NFL.

The Atlanta Falcons, I feel, is the perfect spot for him. The Falcons have a big time quarterback in Matt Ryan surrounded by big time receivers, such as Roddy White and Julio Jones, which would fit perfectly into what Briles wants to do offensively.

The pieces are in place with the Falcons to run Briles' air raid offense right away. It would be a nice match for both parties. Briles would get the opportunity to try his offense at the NFL level and the Falcons would get an innovative offensive coach that is becoming a hot commodity in today’s NFL.

The success that Chip Kelly is having with the Philadelphia Eagles has opened the door for coaches like Briles. Kelly’s success at Oregon with an explosive offense landed him the job in Philadelphia and it has been instant success ever since.

Briles is in the same situation and the Falcons should make a call to Briles when they decide to let Mike Smith go. It would be fun to watch how Briles’ offense does in the NFL, especially with the explosive pieces the Falcons have.

This is something that is interesting to think about and may very well become a discussion that is had by both Briles and the Falcons down the road. The Falcons are on a road to nowhere, but a breath of fresh air like Briles would certainly rejuvenate the fans in Atlanta. It may be a long shot this ever actually happens, but the idea of the two parties combining is exciting for football fans everywhere.

NFL Week 8: Tony Romo Will Help You Win Big In Fantasy Football

The winner of this week's $25, 2.5 million dollar entry on FanDuel will win $500,000. These are the players that will lead you to the promise land. You must pick 9 players to make up a team: QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, WR, TE, K, D. Your salary cap is $60,000 while each player's salary is determined by how well they are playing. You have to take risks and you have to do your research if you want to win big. Here are a few teams I think can make you some great money.

QB - Tony Romo - $8,200QB - Russell Wilson - $8,900QB - Carson Palmer - $7,400
RB - Jamaal Charles - $8,700RB - Jamaal Charles - $8,700RB - Jamaal Charles - $8,700
RB - Justin Forsett - $6,700RB - Chris Ivory - $6,000RB - Shane Vareen - $6,800
WR - TY Hilton - $7,900WR - TY Hilton - $7,900WR - TY Hilton - $7,900
WR - Sammy Watkins - $7,300WR - Alshon Jeffery - $7,700WR - Mike Wallace - $7,500
WR - Allen Robinson - $6,000WR - Eric Decker - $6,300WR - Mike Evans - $5,900
TE - Delanie Walker - $5,600TE - Jared Cook - $5,100TE - Dwayne Allen - $6,000
K - Nick Folk - $4,700K - Nick Folk - $4,700K - Nick Folk - $4,700
D - Cowboys - $4,700D - Cowboys - $4,700D - Houston Texans - $5,100

For these three teams I picked Jamaal Charles, T.Y. Hilton, and Nick Folk on every team. You need to have some players you are 90% positive will have good games on multiple teams. Charles is playing at home against the STL Rams. T.Y. will be going against a weak PITT defense with Reggie Wayne sidelined; Luck will be throwing at T.Y. ALOT. Nick Folk and the Jets are playing at home against Buffalo. Not alot of points should be scored. The Bills have a formidable defense who should be able to shut down Geno Smith in the redzone. Bring on the FGs Folk.

I will be entering these 3 teams but don't mind splitting the $500k with you.

What changes would you make?

The 6-1 Cowboys Are NOT Who You Think They Are!

The Dallas Cowboys are not for real. Don’t be fooled by their 6-1 record, fancy stadium, or the fact that half their offense could look really good in underwear commercials. This team is a fake. A fraud. A phony. Their 6-1 record is a scam. Paying attention yet?

Sure, Dallas has won their last six games. It is a strong streak. The last time the Cowboys won six in a row was 2007. They actually won 12 out of their first 13 that season, but stumbled down the stretch losing two of their last three and their only playoff game. This team seems even better.

When we take a closer look at the Cowboys though, there are four glaring flaws. Four things that are going to prove their weakness and that will cause their ultimate downfall.

4. Schedule: The Cowboys have won six games against teams that are a combined 15-24. Big freaking deal! Their BIG win at Seattle seems less and less impressive as the Seahawks implode. They don’t have a SINGLE win against a team with a winning record. And three of their wins have been by a score or less including a win in overtime at “home” against the Texans.

Looking ahead, the Cowboys face some actual challenges. Their remaining slate includes two games against the Eagles, games at home against the Cardinals and Colts, and a road game at the Bears. All five of these games will present very strong challenges, and games at Washington and the Giants always end up being close because of a great division match-up. Don’t be surprised if the Boys limp in to the playoffs as a wildcard at 10-6.

3. Demarco Murray: WHAT?! Isn’t he the top option for league MVP right now? Isn’t he the reason the Cowboys are 6-1? Yes and yes. And he will also lead to their downfall. Murray is touching the ball at an incredible pace. He is on pace to have 478 touches on the year. This is the same Demarco Murray that has missed multiple games every year of his career. I just don’t believe that he will survive much longer. And when that happens, inconsistent Tony Romo has to take the reins. The Cowboys become one dimensional and teams find the much easier to stop.

2. Run defense: Sure, their run defense and defense in general looks a lot better than it did last year, at least on the stat sheet. But when we look closer there are two things that stick out. First is that the Cowboys are still giving up nearly 5.0 yards per carry to opposing teams. They have had their mix of very good (Lynch, Gore, Foster) backs to play against and very bad (Sankey, Stacy, Williams) backs. But if a team can average half of a first down every time they run the ball, that isn’t good.

Second, because teams often played from behind they had to abandon the run. The Titans and Saints only carried the ball 13 times; the Seahawks, who dominate the run game, only rushed 18 times. Teams who actually run the ball have found success doing so.

1.Time of possession: Let’s tie this one to Demarco Murray. One of the only reasons that the Cowboys are doing well is because they allow Murray to control the clock. Over the 360 minutes they have played in six winning contests, they controlled the ball for a ridiculous 211 minutes! That is nearly 18% more time than their opponents. Once Murray goes down, it all changes.

Think that I should have written an article praising Demarco Murray? Maybe you’re right. I do tie their downfall to an event that may never happen (and the fact they haven’t beaten anyone of substance). Tell me about it in the comments below.

I will be entering these 3 teams but don't mind splitting the $500k with you.
